Design Disruptors

3 aspects/key points that you find it useful and interesting.

- One of the aspects that I find it interesting is that, they mentioned that design is actually not an art, but more like the living organism like us, human. This is because it evolves or changes accordingly and adapt to the new environment as time goes by.

-The part where it says that time pressure is essential in the process of designing, it is quite interesting to me as well, it’s like giving me a hint that I should give myself a constraint on the time I have for me to meet my deadlines, as this would give me a sense of urgency to finish up my work as early and perfect as possible.

- Lastly, it tells me that I should gather whatever ideas that I would get throughout my design life, whether it’s good or bad, because the ideas cannot really be categorized as good or bad, as either ways, they may inspire someone else, or even myself.

2 aspects of how it relates to your project development (any project)

Firstly, time pressure is essential. It tells me that even if the project I’m doing is having a deadline due on the upcoming month, I should never leave it till the last moment but try to give myself a little pressure on the time constraint, telling myself that I only have a week to go for the deadline to due, as it can gives me a sense of urgency and to finish up my work as soon as possible. Besides, it will also tell me that I should not always focus on the tiny little details when the major stuff isn’t done yet.

Secondly, the ideas gathering. As I am gathering ideas or thoughts from any sources, for example, public, I should never think that the ideas given out by them are either good or bad only. But to think that their ideas are all really valuable as when the time comes, it may spark my inspiration one day.

A summary of what is the film about.

The film is basically telling how powerful the word, design, is in the digital companies and even products nowadays. They’ve interviewed several top designers from all of the well known brands or companies like Netflix, Spotify, Facebook and more. And in order for these companies to dominate in the market, there is something called disruptive design, whereby it uses design to interrupt, or to even topple an old idea of literally anything, by creating something big that may change the whole industry that it is in, completely.

So, this is what this film is telling, how the concept of disruptive design helps these companies to revolutionized the industries.
