1.Misleading Technologies Advertisements

Briefing

People often get misunderstanding with the tech related advertisements nowadays as many technologies are being invented everyday in this era. It’s something like when an advertisement of a phone shows that it has no bezel anymore, but in the real world when you get to touch the phone in person, you only realized that it actually has a bezel, even though it’s a thin one, you still feel cheated in the end as your first impression from the advertisement was that the phone is borderless.

Information

People tend to always look at things that are pop out for their eyes and ignore the rest of the information provided in an advertisement. They would only realize about the truth of the thing that they are looking at after they’ve dived deep into researching of that something that they are looking for, this makes them thinking that they are cheated even though the advertisement somewhat did “include” the important message in their advertisement.

Issue

After people are mislead by the advertisement, there’s often conflict between the company that advertise that and the people. People would complain about the misleading advertisement as it gave them false hope on what they thought is coming for a long time. For the example below, it talks about how Dyson, argues about their misleading advertisement with consumers.


2.Trend Following Robots

Briefing

Nowadays many people starting to follow the trend, from fashion to technologies. It is so serious now that, even when we head out to shopping in the mall, we might even have an incident of meeting someone that is wearing the same exact shirt as we do, and also using the same latest smartphones for the year.

Information

People get attracted to stuff they don’t get in their life, they tend to buy stuff that their brain tells them they need it, even though it’s not a necessity. Or even when their favourite star is using or wearing something, people might eventually go and get the same exact thing that they wear or use.

Issue

In order for people to follow the trend blindly, it has slowly but surely turned people into a robot, a typical robot that doesn’t know how to make decision wisely, but only make decision based on what the owner of the robot told it to do.
